One of a series of four bronze street light statues. This one is depicting "Philosophy & Inspiration" on Kelvin Way Bridge Glasgow
The figure of a mature man dressed as a scholar, contemplates the meaning of existence. On the other side of the central street light pillar section is a young woman musician holding a lute, who gazes out in a trance as she receives inspiration.
The sculptor who produced the four street light statues was the Australian born, Paul Raphael Montford,
Kelvin Way Bridge was designed as Radnor Street Bridge, by City Engineer Alexander Beith McDonald in 1912
