Rivers for Life 3
Rivers for Life 3: The Third International Meeting of Dam Affected People and Their Allies was held October 1-7th 2010, in the small town of Temacapulín, Mexico. Over 320 people from 54 countries around the world came together to share experiences, learn new strategies, create alliances and strengthen the international movement to protect rivers and human right... and of course to dance.

Filling the main plaza and session spaces; participants took part in capacity building workshops, Regional Caucuses and Affected People's Forums. The evenings were filled with international sounds from Africa and South Asia and with dances from The Middle East and South America.

As the exhilarating 5 day meeting came to a close, the Temaca Declaration echoed the cry of the previous two International Meetings, with the call of: “Water for Life, not for Death!” Pledging to stand in solidarity with the generous people of Temaca who are fighting against El Zapotillo Dam; the town reverberated with the chants of “Temaca Vive, La Lucha Sigue.”
