Glitch Architecture Travelogue
Sometime between 24 April 1838 and 4 May 1838 Lois Daguerre took a picture of Boulevard du Temple in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris. Because of a more than ten minute long exposure time the busy street looks completely empty, only two people are visible, one having his boots polished by the other. This is believed to be the first photograph of a living person. Today we perceive and understand our built environment more through a filter of technology than subjective experience. Who have time for fancy dérives? Today we fly over landscapes made by an algorithm in a re-programmed missile-guiding software.
