Orbis Ring Flash Mod 2 - Holder (Part 2)

I was tired of always holding the Orbis in one hand and holding / operating the camera with the other. The idea was to built a holder that can carry the orbis, the strobe, as well as the camera. Fairly simple and easy to use. I know it looks bulky, but its really fun to work with this unit. And if I'm going to use it as a kind of beauty dish, it can be mounted on a tripod too.

The advantage(s) compared with other solutions: relatively cheap (even if you have to order the piece of aluminium, bend and drilled in a shop or on the Internet), stable, not as bulky and complex and it does not put any tension on the filter screw (in my case the strobe plus orbis weighs approx. 800 grams).

Check out the other parts of this multi-part posting.

Strobist info: shoot through umbrella (Westscott collapsible), pocket wizards, Nikon Coolpix P5100 on a tripod. Umbrella above camera left, white board on camera right.
