Lamington lovin'

    Newer Older

The only thing that can compare with a chocolate cake is a sponge dipped in chocolate icing then dredged in dessicated coconut.

These sinful little nuggets are known as lamingtons, and the recipe can be found on my food blog - Kitchen Wench

Strangely enough I was just eyeing the lamington recipe in one of the Donna Hay books! Mmm, chocolate & coconut.

You're meant to put jam in 'em?? I dunno, I was just going with the recipe book :P I hadn't had a lamington since I was in primary school before I made these!

      Hehe, cheers :)

Chocolate and coconut is a pretty good combo ;)

      Ah, the classic lamingtons!

They look very much like a traditional nyonya dessert we have over here :)

This photograph reminds me of winter! Must be the coconut, which I really don't like, but I'd try anything you'd make, especialy since it looks as divine as this!

Oh you could absolutely forgo the coconut in favour of more chocolate ;)

Forget what Amanda said about the coconut, she has no taste. The coconut would be the icing on the cake if you will. She never did like coconut.

Okay, now I know you should be a chef or baker. These looks so freakin yummy. Please please please come to my house and bake for me.

      Oh the shot is magnificent.

LMAO! Kim, you crack me up :P I'll make it there one day to cook you and Amanda a feast, I promise :D

    14. Domesticated Diva 81 months ago | reply

Can't wait for that day. Although you will have to visit me first since I live in another state other than Amanda. Not too far away, four hours.

    15. Ellie W. 81 months ago | reply

Oooh, 4 hours works, trust me :D I'll spend all day cooking up a storm in your kitchen, then we go on a road trip and I cook a fiesta for the family at Amandas! See? :D I think I seriously need to throw a dinner party, the urge to cook a feast is driving me nuts!
