Memorial Day 2018 Ceremony
Montgomery Township’s Memorial Day Flag-Lowering Ceremony on Monday, May 28th was an inspirational and solemn event honoring those U.S. servicemen and servicewomen who gave their all, so all can be free.

Held at the Veterans Memorial in Montgomery Veterans Park, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts raised and then lowered the American flag, and a moving rendition of “Taps” by trumpeter Mati Orlow-Ng ended the ceremony.

Speakers who shared a few words at the brief ceremony included Montgomery Veterans Memorial Committee Chairperson Peter Rayner, Reverend Chris Heitkamp of Harlingen Reformed Church, Somerset County Freeholder Mark Caliguire, and Mayor Mark Conforti, who read the names of all servicemen and servicewomen who gave their lives during active service to the United States.

This event was organized by the Montgomery Veterans Memorial Committee.
