New Orleans: Downtown river corner of Laurel & Lyons Streets. Building at the time of this photo housed "Beach Ball Benny's" bar. For much of the 20th century it was "Munster's", neighborhood bar and live jazz dance hall. Many jazz bands played here; I believe the last regular gig being the Louisiana Rep in 1983. The bar was in the front by the corner door; the dance hall room behind it, accissible either through the bar or from the side door on Lyons Street.
