UTW Piazza Maggiore Lightroom Preset
This is pretty much my first preset that works with people. To prove it, the minor photos are all people pictures. I'm big on the obvious today.
The preset was mildly inspired by bleach bypassing. Is cold and gritty what you got? Because that's what I was going for. I've always been better at color than not color (I mean, even my B&Ws have some saturation in them, so...), but I think this one turned out pretty well. It did take a long time to get this one how I wanted it. I've been trying to get something like this preset going for a while.
Piazza Maggiore is a square at the heart of Bologna. It's one of the most wonderful places for people watching that I've ever seen. For the past maybe 50 or 60 years, Bologna has held a Carnevale dei bambini - basically Mardi Gras for kids. (Granted, Italian Carnevale is a little better clothed than New Orleans Mardi Gras and definitely better than its Brazilian counterpart - it is dang cold in Europe in the winter!) I was trying to take pictures of random kids and not be creepy - no short task without a decent telephoto lens!
And since I stupidly forgot that I'll be going out of town this weekend (and possibly part of next week, we shall see...), I'll be posting the remainder of the presets today and then just post-date them to the proper time. ;) I am a stickler for order.
If you use the preset, please credit me and link back to this page. I'd love to see what you do with it, so feel free to post a small image in the comments. Thanks for taking a look!
