2007-09-20 bento dinner for two

Newer Older

I made these identical meals for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl - they were delicious but maybe there was *too* much food.

How nice! I was delighted to have my BF fly me down to LA to see a concert in a box at the Bowl, and he packed a large hamper of course. I was in love with the entire concert under the stars. I want to do it again and pack bentos for us.

The salmon looks delicious. I like how you used the silicon cups so effectively to take up all available space in the box with all kinds of different food.

These are so nice, very tightly packed and making me think I need square silicone cups not just the round ones. Here's my question though -- the more tightly I pack my boxes, the harder it is to dig the stuff out at lunchtime. Is there a trick? Maybe that's what skinny little chopsticks are for?

Yes, definitely a beautifully organized and appetizing pair of bento here! Everything looks really good!

Everything looks awesome, but I particularly love how elegant the plums look!

Thank you everyone! It was a very good dinner.

Snappiness: The square silicone cups are the best. I have this...quirk...where I don't like my food to touch. Making bentos was part of a plan to get over that and also to eat healthier. I don't know if there's a trick to getting out the food, but usually my lunches look really nice when I make them, but become kind of a mess once it's time for lunch!

Natakiya: Thank you! I love cutting fruit like that!

This may be coming a little late (I'm always trying to catch up on pictures) but I really have to say how much I like the plum! I can only think of chopping mine and throwing them into my bento. Yours is... FANTASTIC!
