"Elevator, Miami Beach" by Robert Frank (1958)

    Newer Older

This is a photograph by Robert Frank, appearing in the collection Les Americains (The Americans). Jack Kerouac singled this out as his favorite image in the foreword to the American edition of that book. But this had been my favorite long before I read that.

unfortunatnly, Kerouac died many years before Sharon Collins discovered she was the "Elevator Girl"
