Rock of Ages
... although the weather didn't improve, it didn't get any worse ... low clouds but no evidence of electricity ... by 1:30 pm I had reached the dilapidated Rock of Ages mining camp at just below 13,000 feet on Wilson Peak. Mt. Wilson on the right above the snowfield, Gladstone Peak sharper summit is to the left of that. I don't know it for a fact but I think the snowfields on Mt. Wilson may be the southernmost "permanent" snow in the US.
