nola- mardi gras fountain002

Postcard of the Mardi Gras Fountain on Lakeshore Drive near Canal Boulevard. This fountain was built around 1960 as a tourist attraction facing Lake Pontchartain. The fountain was surrounded by ceramic plaques, each commemorating a different carnival krewe, defunct or active. At night the colored lights were synchonized to music - which I do not remember when I was a kid.
