Radio Daze

Large on black

This was something I wanted to create from my minds eye. When I was little my Father read Biggles books to my sister and me. He did all the voices and accents and substantially contributed to my love of reading. He spoke about when he was little and would listen to Biggles stories being read on the radio. The Grundig valve radio was my Grandma's and I like to think of my Father listening to it as a boy (probably a radio a few years before this one but he certainly listened to this one) There's something about the rich tone from a valve set that is perfect for stories.

SB24 1/2 cut CTO in small ezybox softbox above and camera left.

430ex on diy gridspot 1/2 cut CTO camera left (for rimlight and to pick up the steam.)

I had it plugged in and playing whilst shooting (partly for the lovely green valve /magic eye on the right, but the lights were so feeble I didn't bother to set up a tripod required for the extra exposure to burn them in. I did however discover that I liked shooting to music so next time I'll remember to set some up.
