Reverie revisited - a self-portrait

YOU CAN SEE ME BETTER IF YOU VIEW LARGE ON BLACK

just because i am in that kind of a mood yet again “letting myself be penetrated gently by this (reverie), by the serenity of the sky and the melancholy of the moment . . . one of those ineffable moments when one feels something in himself which is going to sleep and something which is awakening.” -Victor Hugo from The Poetics of Reverie by Gaston Bachelard

2008 is about to sleep. 2009 is astir. time for both looking back and looking forward without forgetting to look into what is NOW.

ABOUT THE IMAGE - this is a blend of two images. one, a self-portrait, was posted here on Flickr last May 2008. the other was an image i took just yesterday - saw this rope hanging from a tree in front of my friend's house. i did not add any texture to this composition - the textures were provided by Mother Nature - the defocused branches and leaves in the rope shot (see my comment below)
