PhD student, Maria, and Wondemeneh Esatu (EIAR)
PhD student, Maria, and Wondemeneh Esatu (EIAR) weigh some of the unfertilized eggs. They both show amazement at the egg being a larger than average 80 grams. The weight depends very much on the breed. The Ethiopian Horro breed lays eggs that are between 25-30g. A hatching process was organized by the Ethiopian Institute for Agricultural Research at the Debre Zeit Agricultural Research Centre in April 2016. (photo credit: Hannah Rollings)
