On 26 September 2013, the ILO and the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations co-sponsored a ministerial breakfast with the theme "Innovations in Labour Migration: Governance and Development Outcomes" in the Delegates' Dining Room at UN Headquarters in New York.

The event was organized to spark discussion among officials and experts and to inform discussions about links between labour migration and development ahead of the UN High Level Dialogue on International Migration and Development.
