Life-sized bronze statue shows Abraham Lincoln and his horse greet visitors to the country home in Washington DC where the Lincoln family resided during the hot summer months in 1862, 63, and 64.

Now known as President Lincoln's Cottage at the Soldiers' Home the cottage was restored and opened to the public in 2008 as a National Trust historic site. Photo by Carol M. Highsmith.
