Mangrove forest in Tanzania
Mangrove forests provide breeding grounds for fish and crustaceans, almost tripling local communities’ fish catch and improving their income.
Farming and fishing helps to safeguard local food and economic security in this part of Tanzania during the disruption to food supplies and the local economy brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This work is part of the Developing Core Capacity to Address Adaptation to Climate Change in Productive Coastal Zone project, funded by the Global Environment Facility.
