Traveling evangelists in the late 1800s and early 1900s often held tent revivals which could last a few days, weeks, or even months. It took a lot of physical work, teamwork, and looking after details to set up the tent, take it down, and transport it to the next destination. Tent meetings seemed to be more effective in rural areas than in urban areas. The end result in Pentecostal meetings was that lives were changed and people were saved, healed, and baptized in the Holy Spirit.
