The Corner Store - open air style

NYC - in Montréal the corner store is called a dépanneur. Which literally means troubleshoot or to help out of difficulty. Of course, I don't think they were thinking of the open air style like this corner store. In Michigan, a corner store was called a party store. (Is it still?) Because of course, you could by chips, beer and cigarettes. In truth, New Yorkers probably call it the deli. In other parts of the country it's called a convenience store and a few other names. What do you call it?
