DIY Wrapping Paper
Some homemade wrapping paper I made for Christmas but you can make them for any occasion.
Clockwise from top left hand corner:
Crepe Paper Ruffles. Take 2 lengths of crepe paper streamers, one of which you have trimmed slightly and stitch together on your sewing machine. Then gather the crepe paper, and stitch onto a length of brown paper. (Both the hearts and crepe paper can be done on a small section of brown paper then wrapped around a wrapped present for decoration).
Map Paper. I found an A3 atlas of Maine and simply took an inside sheet out and wrapped a present then tied green embroidery thread around it.
Penguin & Comic Strip. I took pages from the Children's Pages & comic strip sections of the sunday paper. Our Sunday paper has these sections in the middle so you get a nice big sheet you can use.
Heart Paper. I used my Martha Stewart heart punch and punched hearts out of a leaflet on recycling from the local council which had pretty red, yellow & green pages and illustrations. Then I stitched them onto a piece of brown paper. My first effort was a little wonky, and one I did later I stitched across the hearts horizontally not vertically and it was a lot easier. As stated earlier you can just make a strip of hearts on brown paper to wrap around a wrapped present like a ribbon.
Really inspired now to make/craft/refashion all my wrapping paper for this year!
