Yosemite National Park at Night

End of Day 6 - After hiking to Vernal Falls, we decided to head to Glacier Point for the sunset. Unfortunately we got stuck in a 2-hour traffic jam to get out of the valley. So we decided just to stay in this spot again for some night shots.

This is a 20-minute exposure of the valley. The lights you see in the sky are star streaks. I've forgotten what it's like to look at the sky without urban light pollution. There are so many stars. It's dismal that a plane had to fly right in during the exposure. The price we pay for our modern lifestyles.

If you look closely enough on the side of El Capitan, you will see some lights. Those are not stars, they are rock climbers camping on the side of the mountain.
