Uncle's New House 1
My uncle spent the last three years building this country house, virtually by himself, with targeted hired help when necessary. My uncle did all the plans, interior design, etc., himself. This is the main living room. All the woodwork he did himself. The two long strips of darker wood are solid, continuous strips cut lengthwise of African Peduk, and embedded into the floor with the floorboards (which he also did himself in the woodworking shop in his basement).
Strobist - Mixture of strobes and ambient (more ambient in this one compared to my other shot, to get the dusk light and bring up the potlights and lamps). Together with ambient, nuked the hell out of this huge room with three strobes all at full blast:
- 580EXII into silver reflective umbrella, behind the camera left diaginally into the room
- 580EXII into silver reflective umbrella, in the far right corner facing into the far corner
- 430EX bounced against a white surface above me a bit to the right.
All with full CTO gels. I was pretty good with the light placement, but I had to clone out one (only one) light reflection from the windows.
