Duntulm Castle

The ruins of Duntulm Castle, on the northern tip of the Trotternish peninsula, is quite imposing with 50ft cliffs on three sides. This was formerly the home and palace of the Lords of the Isles and has been abandoned since 1732. The castle structure is quite unstable now and has progressively collapsed over the years. This photo was taken from the beach below the castle and the lovely sunset light has really brought out the colours of the cliffs and stonework nicely.
