carrion flowers

carrion flowers - replicas of the giant flowers of Amorphophallus titanum, the world's largest and from the rainforests of Indonesia. The real flowers (thankfully not these) produce the scent of rotting flesh to attract pollinating insects. These replicas encircle the national monument in central Jakarta.
