    Haven't read it, but I can imagine the contents. (I have read "American Negro Slavery", which while not supporting the institution, did describe the economics. ) The contortions needed to justify ownership of other humans are oddly similar to the tiering of entitlement in the corporate world. A small amount of pay is given to the wage slaves, and they are ostensibly able to escape bondage at will, but the practical reality is that there are owners and there are workers.

    "Equal Protection of the Laws of North Carolina" Now there's a book that is ripe for a re-write.
