Table for four
"There are four ways,
and only four ways,
in which we have contact with the world.
We are evaluated and classified by these four contacts:
what we do,
how we look,
what we say,
how we say it."
~ Dale Carnegie (American lecturer, author. 1888-1955)
(Behind-the-scene: This was photographed on Viernes Gras amidst the revelry leading to the big day ~ Fat Tuesday - Mardi Gras. I had a cousin visiting from Los Angeles and we wanted to take her to downtown New Orleans so she can partake of the local "Laissez les bon temps roullez!" atmosphere. It was raining and we took shelter right here at Cafe Pontalba. After we were sat down in our table (The place, btw, was brimming with customers. Outside, it was oddly empty because of the rain.). I saw a couple stand and leave their table, right after which a waitress promptly wiped and cleaned their table. As if on cue I stood up and went to it. And started shooting. See, that behind the window is St. Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square. I've always wanted to shoot it in the rain. Snap, snap, snap... Lucio was getting excited. Customers were coming in. I knew I didn't have much time. A couple more clicks. Snap. Snap. I knew I got something. Off to our table back I went. Iella and I took a lot of images in the rain that day. It was a great New Orleans soiree.).
