Main Building of Debrecen University
Initiated by Kúnó Klebelsberg as a substitution for the lost universities outside the borders of Hungary after 1918, designed by Flóris Korb, foundation-stone was laid in 1927, completed in 1932. First it was named after István Tisza, assasinated Prime Minister of Hungary, and it was renamed after Lajos Kossuth at the beginning of the 1950s. It preserved this name when forming the Debrecen University in the mid-1990s, and it has become its most outstanding architectural unit.
The University Protestant Church on the right was completed in 1940 on the designs of József Borsos.
