Alabaster, MI Offshore Dock HDR

In 1928 U.S. Gypsum built this gigantic off shore structure and tramway about a mile out into Lake Huron. The purpose was to load gypsum direct onto Great Lakes Freighters. The mile long Tramway has long since been dismantled and the huge loading structure has fallen into disuse and decay. The tram platforms may someday be a site for wind turbines.
