About Guido Alvarez
Welcome to the photographic database of New Media Art Educator and Cyber Artist Guido E. Alvarez. Alvarez is a former Fulbright scholarship recipient who received his MFA in Design and Visual Communication from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is currently an Assistant Professor at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota where he teaches New Media Art, Animated Art, and Video Art while he works on the development of his PH.D. dissertation conducting research on the subject of reality and simulation; with a personal focus in cyberculture, social networks and virtual puppetry. His PH.D. is known as MATX. MATX is an innovative Doctoral Program offered by VCU's English Department in Richmond, Virginia. This interdisciplinary Program combines: Fine Arts, Design, Mass Media, and English Literature with an special emphasis on intertextuality in electronic environments.
