My friends and I were talking about life and success while we were in the hot tub the other day, and we mentioned and talked about the ability of actually finishing what you start. We talked about how important it was, and how it set you apart from those who succeed and those who don't. Looking back through my short life of 21 years, I can see all the times I have given in to things that were just too darn hard. After thinking about all the times I had given up, I thought more about WHY I had given up. Sure, it was hard, but the real reason I gave up is that I built up so much pressure on myself. A lot of things that I enjoyed doing were just swept away by the unnecessary stress I put on myself. After this talk with my friends, I was reminded about the importance of patience. Here are a few of my favorite quotes about patience:
"Abused patience turns to fury." - Thomas Fuller
"Have patience with all things, But, first of all with yourself." - Saint Francis de Sales
"Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish." - John Quincy Adams
Have fun, and capture the fun!
