Joshua Tree National Park

With nearly 800,000 acres of mystical beauty, Joshua Tree National Park is undoubtedly one of the world's most incredible natural desert treasures. Sweeping, grand in scale and populated by granite monoliths, the park offers wonder to eco-travelers, outdoors adventurists and naturalists. Two large ecosystems come together to form this quiet land, conducive to meditation and roaming, that have been carved by extremes in climate from wind to rain to an ever-present, relentless sun.

Joshua Tree National Park is a vast protected area in southeastern California, east of Los Angeles, near San Bernardino and Palm Springs. The park is characterized by rugged rock formations and stark landscapes. Named for the region's twisted, bristled Joshua trees, the park straddles the cactus-dotted Colorado Desert and the Mojave Desert, which is higher and cooler.

Arid low desert and vegetated high desert meet in Joshua Tree National Park, offering visitors stunning vistas and rewarding hikes.
