This Norwegian waterfall is a very famous for many reasons. It is situated along the main road from the capital Oslo to the second largest city Bergen and as such it attracts many tourists. You can see the road in the image. On the left side it is possible to make a halt and walk out on to the edge of the cliff to get a better view and to hear the sound of the falling water. Regrettably this has also lead to fatal accidents such as when a woman slipped and fell down the cliff earlier this summer. There has been a debate on whether or not the area should be better protected but the prevailing opinion has been that it is impossible to protect people from all the dangers of nature.
On this particular spot there is however a fence - one which I was leaning over to take this photograph. It is a fantastic view from here and this has been photographed countless times but nevertheless I decided to share it as I experienced the scene that evening.
