after the snowfall
This photo was captured some years ago when we were staying on a mountain cottage between Christmas and New Years Eve. We were out cross-country skiing after a heavy snowfall and all of a sudden the sun started breaking through the clouds.
To be in the middle of a landscape like this is very special. It is so serene and untouched and blessed with the special light from the sun through the heavy clouds I thought this was one of those "being there at the right time" shots. As usual I had another discussion with myself on whether to use BW or color but this time I though the photo is really just about the snow in tones of gray and the special light conditions.
It is difficult to capture these moments. The light changes within seconds and I was quite happy to get a shot before the magic disappeared again.
This photo looks much better large on black.
