what i thought about today
March 26, 2012
I have distinct memories of buying this skirt. Fatty and I were in San Francisco in the summer of 2003. We were shopping and went into Anthropologie. He sat in a chair while I looked around. He talked me into buying this skirt. I wasn't going to because it was expensive and I didn't want to spend the money. But I bought it. And right after we went to Nordstrom's and there I bought some red sandals to go with it.
I find it hard to believe that I still have this in my closet. It's just a simple a-line skirt, the kind that really doesn't go out of style. The waist on this one is high, like all skirts and pants used to be. And there have been times that it hasn't fit - truth be told, it would fit me better now if I were five pounds lighter.
But I wore this skirt and thought about that trip all day.
Everything else was gravy - dinner outside, photography class in the church, spying a new book by a favorite author at the library.
And especially the part when Kate cleaned her room completely after Fatty gave her the "if mom isn't happy, the house isn't happy" pep talk.
I love that man.
