Elsenham, St Mary

The nave doorway is set with Roman tiles and a coffin lid has been set in the lintel. A Templar knight?

The chancel and nave are early 12th century, but there was an earlier church here and three puddingstones set in the wall suggest an even earlier Pagan site.
