Pierre Lancre, author of Tableau de L'Inconstance, wrote several books on demonology and witchcraft. In fact, he led a witch hunt in Labourd in 1609. Shown in this illustration are some of the antics he believed witches adored, including the eating of babies, nude dancing, and frog boiling.
