Tactile Rubik's Cube shapes

Showing the various shapes in a scrambled state.

I made these acrylic tiles for a Rubik's Cube. They were made using the laser cutter at the MIT Fab Lab in Boston. The idea was to create a cube that could be solved with the eyes closed using touch rather than sight. The tiles were etched and cut out on the laser cutter in 6 sets of nine. The process took about 30 minutes of cutting per set of nine.

I've had this idea for a while now because I've wanted to see what it's like to solve a Rubik's Cube with my eyes closed. Could be a useful mod for the vision impaired. I'd love to get some feedback about it.

Interesting idea. Could be used by blind people. I guess there is not much games they can use.
