Love this new X-Wing set. Honestly, if I wanted to get back into collecting Star Wars sets, then now would be the time, what with such beautiful re-imaginings of classic Star Wars vehicles and minifigures (truth be told, the temptation to buy Star Wars sets first came back for me when LEGO Star Wars finally transitioned to eyes with white sparkles in them as opposed to the plain black dot eyes Star Wars figures had for so much longer than other LEGO themes).

I don't mind the stickers for the engines and other details, but then I feel very differently about stickers than a lot of AFOLs (I think of applying stickers as just an extension of the LEGO building experience). Of course, the engine stickers in this set do have a problem, that being that they're completely round. There's no alternative if they're going to be stickers rather than prints, but completely round stickers can be hard to line up.

At least these are completely round stickers on completely round pieces, rather than one of my sticker pet peeves, round stickers that don't match the shape of the piece they're on (like the tail stickers on the LEGO City Space Shuttle or Shinkai 6500). Those are something I wish TLG would avoid in general, even as a fan of stickers.

For those who prefer printed parts, I wonder how these would look. They were used more recently than I would have ever imagined, but still too long ago to still be in production unfortunately. =( Still, while somewhat expensive on Bricklink, getting four of them wouldn't cost too much.

I want to get this. It will be my first x-wing lego set. Do the clear legos come with the set (like shown in this photo)? I guess I could buy some if it dosen't
