Viene la Tormenta / The Coming Storm
A brief snowstorm moves across Arizona's Verde Valley. Taken at 80mph (someone else was driving, obvs.) from I-17 as we dropped down into Camp Verde. Looking to the north--you can see Sedona's red rocks in the right foreground (specifically, from left to right, it's Courthouse Rock and points east in the Village of Oak Creek). Somewhere behind the storm cell lie Flagstaff's San Francisco peaks. I love coming around the corner to this view of red rocks and distant volcanic glory--it means I'm headed home.
Check it out large on black for details in the clouds and land:
I could have sworn I uploaded this with the rest of my high desert snow shots in February. But I've had nothing but troubles since I updated to the "new" Flickr uploader tool--the other one worked great, this one fails nine times out of ten. Manually uploading shots from the Flickr homepage quickly lost its charm, so I haven't been terribly active since March. Now I've uninstalled the old tool and put in a new one, and it seems to be working. I've still got lotsa stuff going on and am very busy with new projects, but with the early onset of our monsoon weather pattern (CLOUD PORN LOVERS REJOICE!), I will be unable to stay away from the camera. My co-dependents, er, fellow Flickr-ites no doubt understand.
