Yorkshire Light Infantry

This is a real photo postcard of a member of the 12th KIng's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry which was raised by the West Yorkshire Coal Owners Association especially for the war. The 12th KOYLI were the pioneer battalion of the 31st Division serving in France. He wears the crossed pick, shovel, and rifle collar badge of their occupation.
