Blue-winged Teal (Anas discors)

These dabbling ducks have pale blue and green wings, visible only in flight, or partially visible when preening. Sadly, they suffer the highest annual mortality rate (65%) among dabblers. Hunting and long over-ocean migration are thought to be the culprits.
