1920 or so - Sam Mutti store in Bremen
Former American House hotel, moved to N Marshall St in 1909 to make room for the Dietrich Hotel. This was bought by Samuel Mutti and made into a boarding house and grocery, run by John Byrer.
Sam was a hard drinker (he eventually drowned in the Yellow River on a bender), and the business was a blind tiger during Prohibition. Sam, John Byrer, and others were arrested by the county sheriff more than once.
