The American House, Centerville
Built as a hotel around 1836, The American House bordered the National Road (now U.S. 40), the mud track that was the nation’s first federally funded interstate highway. Now, the second and third floors are empty. The roof is bad. The downspouts are gone, The masonry is deteriorating.
