Fantastic shot!! One summer I set out to find Andromeda galaxy with my binoculars. It was tough but I suceeded. I have a question - I found the galaxy to be near Cassiopia constallation at this particular geographic location . Does this position change with the seasons etc or if I search near Cassiopia again, will I spot Andromeda

George, the relative position in the sky with respect to other stars will not change. At least not noticably in our lifetime. And I always find Andromeda easier to find in the fall from my yard. Probably because of all the trees.

Cassiopia is the easiest way to locate Andromeda and it will always be there for you for at least the next thousand years or so. This link might answer your questions a little better than I can... www.madsci.org/posts/archives/feb99/918591912.As.r.html

It's hard to believe that this was taken by an "amateur" ... looks like a NASA or Hubble photo.
