We refinished our floors about a month after we first moved in. Now the finish is not quite 4 years old by calendar, but with all the remodeling, it's like they have suffered at least 10. They have been dented, chipped, scratched, and in one place burned. This is the same room that suffered the water damage when we had no roof, but only the ceiling looked bad. The floors still look good especially after spraying them with some finish-luster I got from Ryerson's. Good stuff. Although the finish on these floors is only 4 years, the wood floors themselves are about 65 years old. With decent care they ought to last another 65 years. Who says real solid wood floors aren't worth it?
