Pilot Hill 25K (June 9, 2012)
The oldest footrace in Wyoming. The race begins winding through the sandy flats on the east end of town. You will run the hogback and pass through the hidden Yucca valley and begin the slow climb to the east, through Owl Canyon (what a hoot!), passed the duckponds, across limestone outcroppings, up Devil's Staircase, and finally the switchbacks to the top of Pilot Hill. Then its ankle-busting and full speed ahead for the downhill descent! The trail is mostly "two-track" on seldom used jeep roads across mostly (85%) private land.
