Project365 - Day 31
Star Trails - First Attempt.
45 x 30sec. exposures, stacked in photoshop
I've seen many of these done - and almost didn't get this one, as it was cloudy and then not cloudy, and I had decided I would leave it and try it out another night, then the clouds dispersed and I couldn't stop myself from setting up in the back garden for my first attempt at a star trail.
I purposely set the camera in the (almost) opposite direction to Polaris (the north star) because of the light pollution in that direction (and almost full moon that way too). And focussed on Orion instead.
I aimed to get about 20mins worth, and managed 45 shots at 30sec exposures. I then stacked them in Photoshop. I'm fairly happy with how this turned out, although its a little out of focus and I should have stayed out there much longer (but it was FREEZING!!!)
I will be checking the weather forecasts to hopefully catch some more of these!
Comments and advise ALWAYS welcome!
