Inspiration quilt: Kuli pu'u

    This quilt is in the book "Quilts: A Living Tradition". Though it looks de Stijl/Bauhaus or Navajo to me, it is really of Hawaiian origin. The original dates from 1880-1910.

    I think it is great for the following reasons: It's simple. It is all solids. It has a lot of dynamic energy in it. The quilting reinforces the tension/excitement in the design.
