Tamanawas falls winter

Newer Older

Tamanawas falls this winter.
I haven't been shooting a whole lot lately so I don't have much in the way of recent photos.

This is a longer exposure taken with a Fuji 6x17 camera and a B+W 10 stop neutral density filter. I had to expose the slide film to get the detail in the snow, so the rest of the shot is a little dark.

Fuji g617, velvia 50, nd 3.0
f/45, 3 minutes

I LOVE the ice structures. Holy cow.

Is the waterfall purple from the 10-stop?

Ara: velvia discolors alot with the nd filter. I'm guessing that's what it's from. Velvia's such a saturated film, it seems to discolor sooner during long exposures than other films.

Amazing composition, work ethic to get to the falls, and math skills to figure this exposure! Another 617 winner.
